Outdoor Garden Lighting

WHY HAVE GARDEN LIGHTING?
A few years back outdoor or garden, lighting involved just a flood light for the back wall or one light shining over the whole garden. It was important just to light up the whole area. Now garden lighting has altered to allow homeowners to create moods or styles their particular gardens requires or deserves!! The range of garden lights now available has also enabled more garden leisure time, almost creating a further room! After all ... a lot of time is put into designing a garden so why not use it in the evening as well as during the day? Garden Lighting means you can enjoy being in your garden after it has got dark as well as during daylight hours!!! Mains lighting is usually used for lighting a very big area and must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Types of Garden Lights
Many different types of garden lighting are available and can be used for many different purposes. Spotlights are great for lighting up a specific plant or ornament, or any certain area. Garden Lanterns are a wonderful way of lighting up driveways or paths, Step lights are useful for steps in the garden, as the light from these shines down onto the step, lighting up the step. But not shining in the eyes. Wall lights can be mounted on any garden wall, be it wood, brick, stone or whatever and come in many different styles and designs. Other types of garden lighting are available and can be used in various ways to create atmosphere and space.Whatever the size of garden, well-placed lighting can enhance it. Any garden, or terrace, or patio can be improved with the careful use of garden lighting. Correct garden lighting can make a lot of difference and can make a small area feel spacious. Garden lights can be attached to walls, decking, put on patios, drives etc. Lighting in the garden is also easy to use to create a theme and the use of remote controls and sensors add to the garden lighting effect. Garden lights can be used to light up the home doorway, both to welcome visitors and to deter intruders, and can be used to light up pathways. A subtle garden light shining over a pond looks extremely effective and is also a great safety feature! However, if lighting a pond it is important to ensure that the lights purchased are safe for it.
